All set for BBQ season....and then some...

We are now the proud owners of 58 bottles of Bullseye BBQ sauce. Yes, 58. I know what is running through your heads right now... That horrible "hoarder" word. Not true. We BBQ for most of the summer, which means alot of sauce will be used. Also, we usually have 3-4 large events where a fair amount of people come over for said BBQ. Also, family, friends and neighbours enjoy it too. And with the BOGO Free coupons, and the 3/$4.98 sale at Sobeys, you can't go wrong with $0.83 per bottle, when stores have charged upwards of $4.00 per bottle... Also picked up 24 Shiriff Dr. Oetker Pudding/Pie Filling mixes, 20 Mousses, 4 Creme Caramel, and 8 Mug Cake mixes. They come in handy for a quick dessert!

Am off to Walmart to get more of the Resolve Laundry Stain Remover tomorrow. It works out free with the $2 insert coupons from the weekend, and with all that BBQ sauce future spillage, we will definitely need it!

What deals have you been shopping for lately? I am on the hunt lately for toilet paper and paper towels! Will post more tomorrow when the sales flyers come! Happy clipping y'all!

April 15, 2012--What's Happening

A few good deals this week, haven't checked out all the flyers yet.

Staples has Lexar Class 10 Memory cards on sale this week. Class 10 is amazing for high quality video capture! The 8GB is on for $9.99, the 16GB is on for $14.99 and the 32GB is on for $24.99. Amazing prices, especially if you bring in the ad (printed online or paper copy) to BestBuy and price match. They will also give you 10% of the difference in price off your bill, and if you are a reward zone member, then you can collect points! I picked up a 16GB one for the hubby for his new camera---maybe that will get him working on my videos!

With the amount of BOGO Free coupons out there for Bullseye BBQ sauce, it's best to find the lowest price and stock up. There were coupons in this weekends Smartsource insert, as well as online on the Smartsource Website

Sobey's has their Bullseye BBQ sauce on for 3/$4.98, or $1.66 per bottle. You have to buy 3 bottles to get the sale price, but if you use 3 of the coupons, you can get 6 bottles for $4.98, or $0.83 bottle. With a price like that, you will want to BBQ every day!

There are a few $1.50 off Bluewater products out there, and if you have one, head to Sobey's. This week, they have assorted varieties, including the Simply Bake, on for $4.98. After coupon, it is $3.48, and you also get a free 1kg bag of Signal (store brand) frozen veggies (assorted varieties). Not too bad!

Will keep y'all posted if I see anything more. Looking to do a mass coupon trade event in the next few weeks. Will keep you posted!

Need More Shopper's Optimum Points?

For all of you who missed out on yesterdays 20x the points event at Shoppers Drug Mart, never fear, another one is near! They are offering another one this Tuesday! Simply print the coupon from this link and shop til you drop!

Deals & Steals--How I saved $280 on bedding...

Have been doing a few shopping trips this past week, trying to work out my grocery budget and replenish stock. I am always on the hunt for insane bargains--with or without coupons.

Superstore is usually my go-to for clearance items, as you know from a trip I did last year. I went there with a list, a few coupons, and was planning on getting in and out fairly quickly. Did a wander, and found an amazing deal!
I bought 4 of these queen sized bedding sets. The staff member working in that section advised me that they are a final sale, as some of them are incomplete. Didn't put me off, as I wanted them for the duvets. The sets were all complete, which included a queen sized duvet, 2 pillow shams, a bed skirt, and 3 throw pillows. Regular price for each set? $80. I paid? $7.94. Making that $320 worth of bedding for a mere $31.76!!! Over 90% savings!

Safeway Trip #1
I tend to find some great deals at Safeway. Whether it be with coupons, or sales, or clearance, there is always something. On this trip, I spent $56.03, but saved $66.67! A 55% savings! The trip included:

Update to London Drugs Couponing Policy

I received an email today from the head of public relations for London Drugs. They have updated their coupon policy again, and put heavier restrictions on it, due to couponers abusing the policy. Please see their updated information by clicking here!

You can NOT stack SC Johnson coupons any more, and they will NOT allow you to pre-order. Please be respectful of this change in the policy!

More Donations and Updates

Definitely paid it forward today, when I visited the Crowfoot Safeway. Safeway, in conjunction with CTV Calgary, was holding a food drive called "Friends Helping Friends", with all donations going to the Calgary Food Bank. I went through my stockpile and filled box after box of food items: juice boxes, pasta, canned beans and tomatoes, juice jugs, peanut butter, jam, and more... Ended up overflowing a shopping cart with product that had a retail value of over $650. I felt amazing! I figure if I have gotten the product for free or close to free, and have extra, why not?!

Did some research on their website as well. Besides food donations, they are looking for Birthday Kits and other Fun Donations, to help out with the families that come through. Please take a look at these---it's a really neat way to donate something special! As well, their website lists items that they take, including hygiene products, diapers, etc., as well as drop off locations.

So, try to pay it forward. Even if it's dropping a can of soup off in a food bank bin once a week...

Until next time, happy clipping! There will be another giveaway coming soon, along with big news! Keep your eyes peeled!

Burrito Madness!

Have been busy in the kitchen the past couple of days, prepping some freezer meals. Made a batch of Breakfast Burritos and a batch of Smothered Burritos. It's always great to have meals set aside in the freezer for hectic dinner time rushes or late mornings! The recipes are below, and they double and triple quite easily!

Breakfast Burritos
2 tsp. oil
12 eggs
2 cups cheddar or monterey jack cheese, shredded
1 cup of chopped onions and red peppers
1/2 cup milk
salt and pepper to taste
12 medium flour tortillas
salsa

In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the milk, salt and pepper.

Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook onions and peppers until they start to get soft, and add egg mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, until cooked through.

If tortilla shells are not soft and pliable, heat in the microwave for 30-45 seconds.

Place about 1/2 cup egg mixture into each tortilla. Sprinkle with cheese and top with some salsa. Roll them up burrito style.

Wrap each tortilla in tin foil, and stack in large ziploc freezer bags. Freeze for up to one month.

To cook, bake in foil at 350F for 10-15 minutes.

Smothered Burritos
Filling:
2 lbs. lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
3 cups low-fat cottage cheese
2 cups refried beans
2-3 4oz. tins diced green chiles
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. cumin
salt and pepper to taste
Sauce:
2-15 oz. cans tomato sauce
4 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. ground cumin
1-4 oz. tin diced green chiles

12 large flour tortillas
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Brown the ground beef with the onions and drain off excess fat. Add the remaining filling ingredients and heat through.

Divide the mixture evenly among the tortillas. Roll up and place in 13X9X2-inch baking dishes (tinfoil disposables) treated with nonstick cooking spray. Mix the sauce ingredients and pour over burritos. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover with foil, label and freeze.

To serve, thaw the burritos. Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 40 minutes, or until heated and the cheese is melted.

Makes 12 servings.

Hope you enjoy guys! They are super tasty and easy to prepare! Until next time all, happy clipping and cooking!
